It is truly the humanity of art that connects us all. Within this connection lie—conscious or unconscious—our distinct pasts, presents, awaited futures, and core persons, paving the paths for the entrance of the external to be lived and embodied within. Throughout our lives, we hear the quiet and loud, noises and voices, demands and stories. We hear to learn, to understand, to succeed, to please. However, the gift of hearing is seldom reliant on the means by which noise is produced and instead reflected in the worn ear of the experiencer.
The materialized communications of man will never wholly encompass the truth and complexity of the divinity of life. Yet, art seamlessly grants way for the listener to attribute the external translation of the composer’s purest heart. The emotional implications of music extend beyond a catchy tune or trending sound bite; music resonates within us as the harmonies of humanity intertwine gracefully with our lived experience. The artistry one cherishes fits perfectly into the mold of their ear, carved by their circumstances, environment, and realities through change and growth.
Music makes us feel. Music fills emptiness, empties the overwhelmed; music enhances love, or guides us toward the light proceeding an impermanent tunnel of despair. Although we have become desensitized to the miracles within the recurring normalized interactions with sound, there lies great significance in appreciating not only its artistry but the beauty that exists within the uniqueness of the perception of the human mind.
